For the last several years I have been blogging about, inter alia, opera using the Live Journal platform. Now I’ve decided to consolidate my opera related blog posts on WordPress so that they might be more easily accessible to people who don’t use Live Journal and/or aren’t interested in my thoughts on other issues nor my quotidian trivia. Posts here will focus on reviews of opera performances; live, via cinema and on DVD/BluRay and on other opera related activities such as the free concert series at the Four Seasons Centre.
As for me, I’m a 50 something Toronto resident and strictly an amateur when it comes to opera. By virtue of location, most of the performances I write about are either from the Canadian Opera Company (where I am a subscriber), Toronto’s smaller opera companies and cinema broadcasts, principally from New York’s Metropolitan Opera.
