The Fatal Gaze (October 1st and 2nd at The Black Box Theatre, 1087 Queen Street West)
Directed by Tim Albery with Music Direction by David Fallis, The Fatal Gaze explores the dangers of looking too long or too closely, incorporating music from the Baroque repertoire.
The Medium (November 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th at the MacMillan Theatre)
Menotti double bill with The Telephone. Anna Theodosakis directs The Medium and Michael Patrick Albano directs The Telephone. Sandra Horst conducts.
The Machine Stops (January 24th at the MacMillan Theatre)
The annual student composer project, which is always interesting. In a future where direct communication is virtually forbidden, a mother and son strive to connect while the technology around them crumbles. The Machine Stops is a science fiction dystopia based upon the short story by E.M. Forster. Conducted by Sandra Horst and directed by Michael Patrick Albano.
Paul Bunyan (March 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th at the MacMillan Theatre)
Britten’s early operetta to a libretto by W.H. Auden. Michael Patrick Albano directs and Sandra Horst conducts.
The Art of the Prima Donna (April 1st at Walter Hall)
A staged and costumed program of romantic opera, including selections from Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi and others, interspersed with anecdotes about the great 19th century prima donnas.
